Summer flies by when you’re having fun, but all good things must come to an end. September 21 marks the official last day of summer. I don’t quite appreciate other seasons as much as I do summer – nothing beats a beautiful, sunny day. Luckily for us Southern Californians, the warm weather usually lingers for a few weeks longer. As I thought about the end of the season, I started to think about all the things I still want to do before fall! Today, I’m sharing 20 fun things to do before summer ends. I’ve done all these recommendations in past summers or will be knocking them off my summer bucket list in the next few weeks.
/ Bike around in a beach town.
/ Have a pool party.
/ Make fun popsicles. This is the perfect recipe book.
/ Make frosé. So delicious and refreshing!
/ Spend a day at the beach.
/ Have a picnic with a view.
/ Do a weekend road trip.
/ Watch a rooftop movie. Next week, I’ll be crossing this off my summer bucket list at Melrose Rooftop Theatre!
/ Rent swan boats at Echo Park. I did this last weekend and it was so much fun! It’s $11 per adult and $6 per child.
/ Be a tourist in your own city and discover something new.
/ Watch the sun set.
/ Hike to a great view. We recently hiked Los Liones Canyon Trailhead with friends and the panoramic view of Los Angeles and the ocean was gorgeous.
/ Go stand up paddle boarding. I’ve paddle boarded in Newport Beach a couple times here. Bring your fur babies!
/ Listen to live music at LACMA Jazz Nights. It takes place every Friday at 6PM until September 28. Bring your own picnic basket and enjoy! The events are super dog and child friendly.
/ Try out a new recipe. Get your ingredients from here.
/ Do a staycation. I’ve been longing to drive down the coast and stay here.
/ Experience Pixar Fest at Disneyland. The last day is September 3, and I’ll be going right before it ends!
/ Visit a winery. I’m doing this one with a few friends in the beginning of fall.
/ Have an end of summer BBQ.
