One of my favorite things to do is try out new skincare products, so I’ve decided to start monthly beauty reviews in hopes of helping you with your skincare journey. Each month, you’ll find all the products I’ve tried for the month and my honest opinions about them. An important thing to remember is that everyone’s skin is different, so something that worked or didn’t work for me might have a different result on your skin. For reference, I have combination skin that tends to be dry in the winter and oily in the summer. My skin is slightly sensitive and I get blemishes from time to time. Thank you for joining me on my skincare journey!

HERBIVORE ORCHID YOUTH PRESERVING FACIAL OIL

I love a good facial oil, but I’m very particular about them. That’s why I had to repurchase the first oil I ever tried, Herbivore’s Orchid Oil. This light oil contains all natural ingredients that defend against free radicals, which causes aging, and supports natural elasticity. A blend of orchid extract, jasmine sambac oil, and camellia flower oil supports hydration and a youthful, glowy appearance. I love how healthy and nourished my skin feels after using this as the last step in my nighttime routine. I absolutely recommend this and would repurchase. You can read my original review on this purchase here.

TATCHA LUMINOUS DEEP HYDRATION FIRMING SERUM

2020 will be my year of trying out serums. I started with Tatcha’s Luminous Serum because it has hyaluronic acid. I enjoy using this serum since it’s been providing my skin the hydration it needs, but I am not in complete awe of this product. This serum is supposed to provide a luminous glow while firming your skin, but I’m not sure either of those have been accomplished for me. Even though I like using this serum, I don’t love it enough to pay $100 for a 1 oz. bottle. Once it’s empty, I’ll try other serums instead of repurchasing this one.

BOTANICS SIMPLY CALM HYDRATING FACE CREAM

2020 will also be my year of trying out more natural and CBD based skin products. My first collaboration of the year was with Botanics and I was lucky enough to try their new line, Simply Calm, which is centered around cannabis sativa seed oil. The face cream is very calming, so I would 100% recommend it for those of you with stressed out winter skin. The scent is pleasant and natural. Overall, I love the Botanics brand because they make all natural skincare so attainable. Check out my partnership with them here.

VERSED JUST BREATHE CLARIFYING SERUM

I started the year off with a lot more hormonal acne than usual, so I desperately picked up Versed’s Clarifying Serum at Target. After just a few days of use, I was surprised how quickly my skin calmed down. Then I used it as a preventative before my period in February and had no break outs at all. Initially purchased for acne solution, this serum has also helped with the appearance of my pores. The texture of the serum is perfect since it’s light and absorbing. For only $20, this clarifying serum does so much. I don’t love the smell, but it’s unnoticeable once applied. I’ll definitely keep reaching for this one.

BRIOGEO LIMITED EDITION HONEY MOISTURE DEEP CONDITIONING MASK

I’m so glad I copped this limited edition hair mask because it is no longer available. Sad news to share, but if you want something similar, check out Briogeo’s original hair mask. The two masks are essentially the same, but the original formula does not contain honey. I love this mask because it smells so good and it does a great job of making my hair look and feel nourished.
