Summer brings longer days and perfect nights, but along with all the good and fun, it also brings the heat. During these warmer temperatures, your skin needs some extra attention to ensure it is cleansed, hydrated, and protected. Today, I’ll be sharing with you 6 ways to get healthy summer skin.
This is important no matter the season, but especially necessary in the summer with all the sweat and grime that builds up on our faces throughout the hot days. If I skip a face wash in the summer, I instantly regret it the next morning and have a few unwelcome guests on my face.
I keep my summer skincare artillery fairly simple, using less products than I would than say during the winter. For me, there’s nothing worse than feeling heavy products sit on my face all day in the heat. That’s why having a lightweight and hydrating moisturizer that gets the job done is so essential. This summer, I’ve been using Peter Thomas Roth’s Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer from his Water Drench line. It’s extremely lightweight, yet so effective that it provides continuous moisture for up to 72 hours. I love how smooth and plump my skin feels even days after applying this moisturizer. Not to mention, the texture is a total dream. The almost gel like texture of this moisturizer gives a nice cooling effect on your skin. From the same line, I also have and love the Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches. These eye patches cool and revive while smoothing out those fine lines. Pop both of these in the fridge and you’ll feel so good after a hot day in the sun!
This seems so simple and obvious, but water is something that everybody needs to have more of! Water benefits the body inside and out. It keeps your skin soft and clear, and also helps flush out the toxins that accumulate in your body.
Beauty rest is a real thing! Snoozing allows your body to repair and recover, including your skin. Skip out on sleep and your complexion can look dull and lifeless.
Consuming and applying Vitamin C topically will give you healthier skin and better complexion. I did a whole post about Vitamin C here.
Last but not least, make sure to incorporate SPF infused products into your everyday routine. The sun can cause significant damage to your skin, so it’s important to take the necessary precautions in keeping your skin protected from those strong sun rays.
