My summer skincare has been all about keeping my skin hydrated and glowy, staying safe from the sun, and keeping break outs at bay. Today, I’ll be reviewing some products that have helped tremendously, and some I regret purchasing. Below is an overview of the 6 beauty products I’ll be reviewing.

SUPERGOOP GLOW SCREEN

Supergoop’s Glow Screen is an SPF primer that doubles as a makeup alternative, perfect for work from home days. The slightly tinted liquid transfers smoothly onto skin, leaving a pearlescent finish. I love using Glow Screen on its own for an everyday dewy look or as a highlighter. As a primer, it works just as well as others. The ingredients of hyaluronic acid and vitamin B3 help retain skin’s moisture, making this a great option for dry or combination skin. Giving this a 4 out of 5 rating since the glow has not lasted me more than 4 hours and it makes me greasy on my oilier days.

HERBIVORE PRISM 20% AHA + 5% BHA EXFOLIATING GLOW FACIAL

Herbivore is one of my favorite clean beauty brands, so I’m sad to share my negative experience with their newest mask. Since my skin is on the sensitive side, I left this lightweight, liquid mask on for only 5 minutes. Before that time was up, my face had become red and had an intense burning sensation. I followed up with Herbivore’s Orchid Oil, leaving my skin to calm down for the next few hours. Once calm, my skin did feel soft and exfoliated, but the results were no different from other exfoliators I use. Besides the fact that this is an all natural exfoliator, this mask is nothing special. I prefer Herbivore’s Blue Tansy Resurfacing Mask, which is more effective and more affordable.

REN EVERCALMâ„¢ OVERNIGHT RECOVERY BALM

For the past few months, I’ve been getting dry patches around my nose and corners of my mouth. To combat the dryness, I turned to Ren’s Evercalmâ„¢ line, a line I’ve relied on in the past to calm and restore my skin. This luxurious overnight balm has worked wonders for my stubborn rough spots and overall skin condition. The balm emulsifies in your hands and applies like a silky oil. The activated oils work overnight to moisturize, nourish, and strengthen skin’s barrier. I always wake up with revitalized skin after a night of drenching myself in this balm. It might be too good to be true, but I think this also calms my blemishes. Night time is the best time to repair the skin, and this balm helps your skin take it to the next level.

TOWER 28 SOS FACIAL SPRAY

This popular facial spray contains three simple yet effective ingredients: hypochlorous acid, sodium chloride, and water. The first thing I noticed about this spray is the strong chlorine smell. After some research into what causes the smell, I realized just how effective this spray is. The standout ingredient in this spray is hypochlorus acid. Hypochlorus acid (HOCI) is a naturally occurring chemical produced in our bodies that help fight infection and invasive organisms. In skincare, HOCI is ideal for irritated, stressed skin with its immune boosting and acne clearing capabilities. This is so much more than just a refreshing spray. This is the spray I reach for when my skin is dry, sensitive, red, or breaking out. I also use this spray on my body. It relieves itchiness when I get small allergic reactions and when I work out. I use this very generously, so my 4 ounce bottle is almost empty in less than 2 months. The only thing I wish they would change is the bottle nozzle. It sprays out too much with too much pressure for my liking.

ONE LOVE ORGANICS VITAMIN D MOISTURE MIST

I love One Love Organic’s Moisture Mist just as much as I love the SOS Spray, but for different reasons. The Moisture Mist is more luxurious and smells like the spa. It is full of nourishing antioxidants that lock in hydration and protect against environmental stressors. This mist can be used as a toner as well, but I mainly use it as the last step of my skincare routine at night. I especially love spritzing this on nights I give myself facials to enhance my at home spa experience. I love the glass bottle it comes in, which sprays out the perfect amount of product at the perfect pressure. It’s on the pricier side for a 2 ounce bottle, but it’s worth it in my opinion. This is great for dull skin and all skin types.

PERRICONE MD COLD PLASMA PLUS+ NECK AND CHEST BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 25

I purchased this neck and chest cream to target the lines on my neck and chest. I’ve used this cream consistently since May and have no results to report. Considering that this is almost a $100 cream, I’m super disappointed to see no changes. I’ll continue using this until it’s empty, but I won’t be repurchasing.
